Through this regime, accredited employers benefit from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Visa approvals in as little as 20 business days;
\u2013 Simplified bureaucracy and priority processing;
\u2013 Predictable timelines for workforce planning;
\u2013 Faster onboarding of international staff;
\u2013 A direct, transparent interface with Portuguese authorities: clearer communication channels with the Portuguese Immigration Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative directly addresses Portugal\u2019s talent shortages \u2014 in particular within construction, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, industry, and technology \u2014 while supporting companies with global operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To qualify for this regime, applicant companies must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Have a workforce of 150 or more employees;
\u2013 Have an annual turnover of \u20ac25,000,000 or more;
\u2013 Be duly registered before the Portuguese Commercial Registry;
\u2013 Have no outstanding debts to Social Security or the Tax Authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smaller companies that do not meet these thresholds can still participate through one of the accredited confederations, which acts as intermediary before the relevant authorities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accredited companies must also follow strict ethical recruitment obligations, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Providing a valid employment contract compliant with Portuguese labor law;
\u2013 Offering training and Portuguese-language instruction to foreign employees;
\u2013 Guaranteeing adequate housing;
\u2013 Preventing any form of labor exploitation or human trafficking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
